Wiring plans, US release
While running some function tests on my new Yugo GVX, I noticed a few things not working. Rear wipers are not reacting. Beyond checking for broken wires at the hatch, is there anything else common I should look for? It seems I have high beams, but no low beams... However a lamp in a very beat up, unreadable switch to the right lights for just a second when I switch to low beams. Left turn signal, good to go! Right, not so much. One blink, and then nothing. All the park lamps light, but as yet I have been unable to find the Hazard control to test the secondary filaments on all turn signal bulbs. The car sat for several years in a junkyard, so some of the markings are gone.
I did hook something back up to the engine, a sensor of unknown purpose (yellow wire with black tracer) and received two more indicator lights on the dash. Right instrument pod lights up, left does not. I am suspecting a bulb. I am very impressed with the park lamp/headlamp indicator. I've been saying for years that would prevent people from leaving their lights on.
Is there a wiring plan somewhere I can use to help me debug my electrics? Or if any of these malfunctions are known deficiencies, maybe I have said something that leads to a fix? If there's a fuse box, I haven't found it yet; however I have been primarily concentrating on getting the engine to run rather than electrical amenities.

"I have high beams, but no low beams..."
It might be that light bulbs are brocken, or lever switch behind the steering wheel. You need new one. It is all in one. Lights switch, wipers and turn signal switch.

Re: Wiring plans, US release
I mean to test both bulbs at soonest opportunity. I did check the fuse box. Looks like the ones in positions 2 and 10 have blown a couple of times. 10 is currently wrapped with tinfoil.
As soon as I figure out how to get into the dash, I think I'll check those bulbs too. It looks like another junkyard has two Yugos, and some other parts. I'll drop by there at some point and see if I can get some new switches. It does turn out the hazards work. It was the busted up switch next to the headlight switch. All the bulbs flash, so if the same flasher is used for both turn and hazard I may need a new switch.
It was raining, or I might have taken it for a quick jaunt around the facility. I'm told the coils on these are very sensitive to moist weather.

On my Zastava I had the ignition coil mounted on the right spring housing and on the front cross member, and never had any problems. Just find a set of good HT leads, and you'll have no problems at all.

Is there a fuse box key somewhere? I've got numbers and letters, but nothing to identify the offending circuit. A little later I'll have to see if I can figure out how to post a pic to satisfy the forum rules. I have a rectangular rubber connector shroud hanging out from under my front bumper, and I don't see anything for it to hook to.

I think it is the fog light connector. How many pins does it have? Take a pic and we'll see.

All of the fuses are 8A, except the I and J which are 16A.
A- turn indicators, wiper motor, windshield washer pump
B- fuel level indicator and bulbs in the instrument cluster, heating fan, rear wiper washer pump, brake lights and reverse lights
C - left high beam and corresponding bulb on the instrument cluster
D - right high beam
E - left low beam
F - right low beam
G - front left and rear right sidebeams, left numberplate light, instrument cluster illumination, sidebeam indicator light
H - front right and rear left sidebeams, lighter illumination bulb, trunk light
I - horn, radiator fan, interior dome light
J - hazard lights

Re: Wiring plans, US release
Well, it looks like the fuse box cover was on backwards. No I know why I had no engine fan, and why the fuse blew. The previous owner pulled out the dome lights and left the wires against the inside of the roof.
I don't have any fog lights, so I don't see why I'd have a connector. It appears to be two wires. I also tried swapping some relays around to see if I could get low beams. I'm not sure what the three relays beside the fuse box control, but it's not the low beams apparently.
I'd have pulled it into the shop, but I am still waiting on my new fuel pump. I'm trying not to run it if I don't have to. I seem to be missing some part of the horn button, I'm not sure what... However that is the least of my worries right now. Tomorrow evening if I have time, I'm going to see if I can access the inside of the instrument panel. I have nothing for lights on the left side, and am suspecting a burned bulb or two.
It took the parts store quite a bit of searching to find me a fuse assortment. They haven't sold any of that style in a while. Someone had forced a glass tube fuse into the carrier, and I fixed that. It also looks like a couple of the switches take bulbs. I'll find out of those are available tomorrow. Also looks like I am not allowed to post images yet.

Re: Wiring plans, US release
You might not have fog lights installed but Zastava on some models installed the wiring for unification purposes. The relays under the hood are I thimk for hazards, headlights and rear screen heaters. Check the bulbs, and then try turning on the low and high beams while someone listens if the relays click.
Use tinypic to upload the photos and simply paste the link, don't use the forum hosting to post images.
The horn button should have a circular copper thingy with two tabs protruding on the sides, which come in contact with the two springs underneath the button.

Re: Wiring plans, US release
I was posting images using pasteboard.co. I think it's not even going to let me do it that way until the seven days is up. Ford does the same thing... Leaves all the harness stubs for every accessory. Sometimes that can make diagnosis a little difficult.
Testing those bulbs is a next move, though normally a guy doesn't generally lose both at the same time.
As to the horn button, I guess I have no springs at all. I went looking for the horn to test it directly, but never did find it. If I read the wiring plan right, it should be somewhere near the right headlight. Obviously that circuit had some problems since the fuse was intentionally bridged. I may not get any time to work on it today, since I will be tending the sprayer in the field. I get to drive something a little bigger than a Yugo today.

Re: Wiring plans, US release
The horn should be between the radiator and the right headlight on the bottom part of the front cross-member.
You need those springs to make contact with the copper tabs on the button and two pins on the round part where the turn signal and high/low beam switches are on the steering column (forgot the name of that, sorry ).
Someone obviously tried to do some DIY but failed... :/

A little further looking shows the tabs on the horn button are broken off. I think they removed the springs so the button would stay on.

Try to salvage a horn button and springs from a donor Yugo, but if you can't find it I can source it out here easily and send them to you, they cost next to nothing here, a dollar or two max.

All GVX's are factory equipped with front fog lamps, probably someone remove it on your car.

You can open yours car topic here. So we could continue there.

And put pics, more pics, it would be easier for us to help you. Do you have Hynes manual maybe? It can be helpful too.

Re: Wiring plans, US release
I can't post any pictures until I have been here for seven days. It won't allow any external links or images. It tells me that in very angry red text every time I try. I have the Haynes manual in the scribd app, just got it yesterday. Looks like a trip to All Hours Salvage is in my future. They are supposed to have two Yugos, but they have been there a long time and are pretty picked over. I need to go and get some glass anyway, my left vent window is broken out. Perhaps they will have a horn button.
I also got a catalog from yugoparts with my fuel pump. They may have the horn parts too. Their prices are good, except on really serious stuff.
I guess I had best get a set of fog lamps too. I wonder if that's the destroyed switch on the right? I'm going to wade into at least one major electrical problem tonight after work. I haven't decided which. Probably going to make a try at low beams.

I have some other stuff I will post on the paint and body forum.
